Bubble has an unknown genetic origin, although many agree that it looks like a cross between Skunk#1 and Afghanistan. Its geographical origin, if it is correct, appeared in Indiana in the 1980s in the form of a clone. This elite cutting ran like gunpowder with the name "Indiana Bubble gum", so much so that right now it's all over the USA.
Adam from TH Seeds turned this clone into seeds to be able to offer this genetics in his catalogue, and shortly afterwards Simon from Serious Seeds did as well. TH Seeds Bubble Gum has a slightly more sativa look than Serious’ one, which looks like a Northern Lights Indica, more like Indiana Bubble Gum Original.
Our feminized version comes from a selection of Serious Seeds' Bubble Gum, very similar in every way. It is a plant easy to grow, advisable even for growers with little experience. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation or greenhouse, and in general is very good, both in production and speed, and especially in aroma, taste and effect.
Its morphology is hybrid with much load of indica, since it forms a great central bud with little development of the secondary branches. The leaves are rather broad leaflets, with a medium intensity in its shade of green.
If you want to grow it indoors, I recommend applying the Sea Of Green production optimization technique. The compact shape of its structure invites to grow many plants per square meter, about 16, leaving only the main tip of each one and pruning low.
Outdoors, it will be necessary to germinate in early spring if we want Bubble Gum seeds to become trees. Like other indicas, this genetics needs its time to develop fully. When grown outdoors or in greenhouses it is advisable to make apical pruning, and pruning of secondary branches. In this case is better for several reasons, first because the light penetrates much better, but also because it forms a central bud of considerable size, something that can be dangerous if wet.
Cultivated indoors it only needs 8 weeks of flowering to complete its cycle. For consumers who prefer a more narcotic effect we recommend harvesting at 9 weeks.
When you grow Bubble Gum outdoors or in a greenhouse the harvest date comes in the first two weeks of October in the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere it is cut in early or mid-April.
If you grow indoors with HPS 600w you can get about 450 or 500 grams per square meter. Outdoors each Bubble Gum can give you over half a kilo if it has enough growing time and is grown in a location with plenty of direct sun. In each case the hand of the grower also counts obviously, but it is a very grateful plant and even with few cuddles it performs well.
The resin production is medium-high, in the style of Skunk#1, is not a Kush in this sense but compensates with the very high production of terpenes and flavonoids.
There are really few strains of cannabis that fit the trade name so well, but one of them is undoubtedly the Bubble Gum. The aroma already predicts what you will find when you inhale its smoke, but it is when it enters the mouth when you discover its great intensity of flavor.
It reminds us of old sour strawberry chewing gum, but one of the good ones, those that the flavor endured for a long time.
